Photonics Media asked Paul Golata, our Regional Sales Manager, to share his insights on “What’s the matter? Distributed Bragg Reflector (DBR) Laser Diodes Enable the Study of Matter” as a part of the Photonics Spectra 2023 Spectroscopy Conference.
In this video, Paul discusses how the ever-increasing push towards studying matter within application spaces demanding low size, weight, power, and cost (SWaP-C) requires an appropriate photonic tool. DBR laser diodes bring a unique ability to break boundaries in Raman, biomedical, food inspection, art conservation/cultural heritage, and environmental situations where matter is being analyzed. Combining excellent SWaP-C characteristics, the DBR laser diodes’ inherent monolithic structure ensures ruggedness and scalability in critical and high-volume applications.
